Preview API — Free & Simple

Extract basic Open Graph metadata from any URL. No authentication required, 150 requests/day.

Preview Endpoint

GET /preview?url={url}

Extract basic Open Graph and meta data from any web page. Perfect for link previews and social cards.

Required parameters

  • urlstringThe URL to extract preview data from. Must be a fully-qualified http(s) URL.

Authentication

None required — keyless.

Rate limit

150 requests/day per IP. Resets daily at 00:00 UTC.

Latency

p50 ≈ 250ms, p95 ≈ 800ms (varies with upstream).

Free for anonymous callers.

Errors

  • 400invalid_urlThe url parameter was missing or malformed.

  • 502upstream_errorUpstream site returned an unexpected response.
  • 504upstream_timeoutUpstream site did not respond in time. Retry with backoff.
